When you finally reach retirement age, when it comes to the mind, it’s a matter of “use it or lose it.” That’s why experts suggest doing puzzles and brainteasers to keep the mind sharp. What they don’t tell you is how addicting they can become.
Almost two years ago to the day, I confessed an addiction to a game called Jumble. I’m sorry to report that not only am I still addicted, but there is now another game that takes up the other 50% of my every waking moment. It’s called 7 Little Words.
It’s like a combination of a ssw zle cro ord puz and rd rch sea wo. The ea id is to nd fi and put get to her the rts pa of a word that fits the ion de nit fi of the clues.
Just like my other addiction, it is ting me fri cos ends and I am in eat ed gr ne of a st pi ra the. Again, I beg of you, does ne an yo know of a up po sup rt gro?
P.S. I ink th so is al th broke the ess rd pr ck wo che sp er ell.

OK I had to read those last lines twice so probably not at your level. But I do enjoy the app Words with Friends – keeps my mind active and in touch with long-distance friends at same time!
nds ke so li od an pl go! (And thanks for visiting).
I will not download 7 Little Words, I will not download 7 Little Words, I will not download 7 Little Words, I will not download 7 Little Words, …
Very good affirmation, Susan, but it’s only as good as your will power.
That looks like fun! Maybe I can use that to wean myself off Spider Solitaire.
Always a good question. Should I replace one addiction with another or should I just add one more addiction?
I’m not a numbers guy either but ken ken is the ultimate for me! K ow exactly what you mean about addiction! Our devices are killing us!!!
I know. Kids no longer run outside to play sandlot baseball. They play against each other on the computer!
I have that game or something like it on my Kindle and I also have carpel tunnel in my thumb from playing it. Dianne
Definitely one of the disadvantages of being a primate and having thumbs.
I better have another cup of coffee and walk away before I get hooked Al.
Definitely. Being hooked on coffee is bad enough.
This is like deliberately getting your friends hooked on crack so you don’t feel so much like a junky loner. Damn you.
Me? Eat fr en tr ds my ke th li at? Ver ne!

Hi Barbara and welcome to GA (Gamers Anonymous). I was wondering if you’d consider being a guest speaker at our next meeting. The topic will be “Hangman – Game of Therapy?”
123456789 is my addiction. Or, in Al speak, do ku su
Never got the hang of that. I’m not a numbers guy, although I do have your number.
I’m not a numbers guy either; it’s logic. š
Aren’t most women illogical? Or is that us? I get confused.
I wonder if you will eventually think, speak and write in a language that us non-players don’t understand…
Eventually?
Oh Dear….I thought 7 Little Words my my secret! I wish the PING would go away, every morning I hear Jack say….So, you’re at it again??
I know what you mean. Between the Jumble and 7 words I have my mute on most of the time.

Man, why you making my brain do work like that?
Because misery loves company.
Hello, My name is Robyn and I am a game addict. Al, that makes you like the pusher man of games, since you got me hooked on 7 little words. I am off to do today’s daily puzzle. I love the sound when you get the word right. It gets my endorphins going, and I don’t even have to get off the couch.
Hi Robyn. I vaguely recall mentioning this game in passing conversation, but “pusher”? That’s a little strong isn’t it?
Having said that, yes, that little “ping” sound as the smiley face appears is rather intoxicating.
