Susie Lundau has invited me to a hastag party called the #Blessed Project. I am honored to be one of the guests and dedicate this blog to the Thanksgiving I have for my wonderful family. Click on this link to join Susie at her party! https://susielindau.com/2016/11/22/join-the-blessed-project-and-link-up-your-blog/.
So let’s jump right in.
I am thankful for a loving wife and companion of 49 years, a vision from the day I first laid eyes on her.
I am thankful that we have enjoyed relatively good health through all these years. She remains the beautiful blue-eyed beauty that I fell so quickly for those many years ago.
I am thankful for a wonderful daughter who has raised a family while at the same time, having a very successful career. She has remained close to us and calls us often to give us updates on their lives and a feeling that we are still a big part of her life.
Thankful that she found a wonderful husband who has also worked hard to raise two children.
I am thankful for a marvelous son who is such a tender soul. He has taught me what courage and determination is all about as he has lived his life with a difficult handicap and several adversities long the way. He is pictured here with his nieces. He is very devoted to his family.
So devoted, in fact, he still hangs with his father even when the latter has his episodes of 60’s flashbacks!
I am thankful for two terrific granddaughters who bring me such joy and happiness and pride. They are a treasure in every sense of the word.
I am thankful for my sister-in-law (my wife’s sister) who has truly become the sister I never had. She and her husband continue to shower kindness on us every day.
And lastly, I am thankful for these two furry bundles of joy who on real cold nights burrow way down under the covers to keep our feet warm!
And thanks to you, Susie, for helping remind me of the many blessings I have had throughout the years. And a very Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Such a beautiful album!! Lots of best wishes to you and your family!! 🙂

I don’t know why, but reading your post made my eyes well up. Could be that it’s very early morning and the first cup of coffee has yet to have its effect; but it could also be that such great and sincere love is always affecting. Happy Holidays to you!
Wow. What a beautiful comment. Getting a little watery myself from it. Much love to you and yours this holiday, Angela.

What a wonderful list! You are truly blessed. Happy Thanksgiving, Al.
Thanks, Peg. Hope you and the hubby have a wonderful weekend. We have a little extra to be thankful for if you catch me drift……
I made the 2 hour drive to pick up out oldest at O’Hare yesterday. After several flight delays, we got back home at 4am. Yikes! I made her do the drive this afternoon to get her sister, but it was smooth sailing and they just got home. We’re leaving the office right now to meet our kids for dinner, then home to get ready for hosting my husband’s family tomorrow.
We will all be together, so everything is fabulous!
Sounds wonderful. Not real fond of O’Hare. I spent a week there one day.
You are indeed blessed with a beautiful family.
Thank you Dianne, hope you and David have a great Thanksgiving!
You and your family are blessed.
Many thanks, Carolyn. Will we Get to see you again next year.? The door is always open to you!
Happy Thanksgiving, Al and Patty…. love the pictures, you DO have buckets full of things for which to be thankful……..And we are thankful that we have you two for friends….XXXXXXX

And Patty and I feel blessed that we reconnected with you and got to know Rob. Seems a long time ago that I used to pass you in the hall and go Wow! (I still do, just don’t tell Patty or Rob!) Happy Thanksgiving. See you in the spring!
Beautiful tribute Al to your beautiful family! Happy Thanksgiving!
You look good as a 60’s hippie btw…;)
Thanks, Tricia. Hope you have a glorious Thanksgiving Day. I know where you live the weather will be very cooperative!
What lovely people in your album. It does appear Mrs. Al’s–because I can’t remember the correct spelling of her name–beautiful blue eyes have been carried on down the line. We have much for which to give thanks!
Thanks Patti (or is it Patty? or is it Pattie?) My Patty will answer to all three! Happy Thanksgiving! Since you are such an expert at bird and fence photos, will we see one of a turkey sitting on a fence?
Oh, you just wait!
Woohoo! You nailed it, Al. What a great tribute to your beautiful family. I love your list and your photos. Thanks for joining the #Blessed Project!
Happy Thanksgiving!
You’re welcome, Susie. What a keen idea. Now if you’d kindly show me to the punchbowl full of eggnog I would give even more thanks…..
It’s in the dining room this time, Al! Thanks for coming. Don’t forget to grab a slice of pie!
Hey, do you know the difference between http:// and https://? My link isn’t working on your post. *scratches head*
I’ll fix that. Thanks for the heads-up.
Got it!
