Azure sky

Then black

Blood flowed

Then tears

Hearts raced

Then broke

Family called

Then lost

Hate dwelled

Then exposed

Terror planned

Then discharged

Bravery tested

Then elevated

Thoughts apart

Then joined

Sadness pervaded

Then remembered

Promise crushed

Then rebuilt

About Al

Retired from a couple of professions, trying my hand at writing about the events in our lives.

  1. Very moving. I will never forget that moment, and I know there are so many people who can say the same. In some dark way it changed the world and it’s shadow hangs over us now

  2. jfh says:

Thank you, Al, for the simple but highly reflective thoughts. Nicely done. jfh

  3. Al,I had no idea that you were such a talented poet. That poem was touching, beautiful and heartbreaking. Beautiful job!

  4. The memories that come back with your words…..the hurt…the disbelief. It does not seem 18 years ago but still so fresh.

  5. susielindau says:

I love this, Al and how your words form one of the towers.

Your turn to write, but please don't be wittier than me. My ego is quite fragile.
