It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted.
It’s this damn blogger’s block. I’m sure you’ve all been there. The signs are unmistakable. For one thing, you start repeating yourself. That’s one reason it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted. Then you start making excuses like not writing because you have this damn blogger’s block.
Next you begin saying the same thing in different ways to fill up the page. By finding a dissimilar way of expression you can lengthen out the post. Commenting using words that are not alike occupies more lines in an article. There’s always more than one way something.
Worse yet, you pick inane topics that are sure to bore your readers. Things like making excuses why it’s been a while since you’ve posted. And like a tired diatribe about how difficult it is to blog when you have blogger’s block. No one cares if it’s been quite a while since you’ve posted.
And then your posts just end abruptly.
Does this make you a blockhead? 😉 Hope all is well.
I prefer to think of myself as the head of the block.
I am way behind with my blog reading and I have a feeling your ‘block’ has cleared now….my Bro, you have a warm and humourous style, so writing about what you are upto in your lovely world would work I feel…your witty observations always make for a good read. ❤ to you. Xx
To thank loyal and appreciative readers like you, I will endeavor to regale you with my daily meanderings and foibles. Heck, it might even provide cheap therapy!
Best Post ever!!
Literary Genius
Pulitzer would NOT turn over in his grave (much)
WordPress probably won’t notice (as usual)
PS I had an even longer block… 14th of December to March 13th!
I am feeling loads better nowadays though so less time to sit round feeling sorry for myself & read blogs to cheer myself up. I hope that I will be able to get back to regular blogging though, I really missed it!
We have missed you too! Glad you are better. How was the trip to Egypt?
Egypt was lovely! Warm and sunny every day (about 28 decrees Celcius) and the sea was 24 degrees. We went snorkelling every day as the Hotel was situated on the edge of a coral reef. The fish were incredible… I took lots of vider’s with my iPhone, but I need to edit out lots of the ‘learning to use my phone under water bits’ and overdub my heavy breathing with the Jaws soundtrack…. then I will share it on here 🙂
In the meantime I’m planning to try & catch up with all the photo challenges since December, and hopefully I’ll be able to use some of my holiday snaps for those!
Looking forward to seeing those. Didn’t know iphone had underwater camera.
You have to buy a special waterproof bag for it!
At least when you write an “excuse” post, I know you are alive even if you are really watching basketball. So tell me Al, is basketball is more important tun writing to your friends…..
You know me waaaaaaay too well, Dianne.
I understand completely. The mantra I use to get out of blogging is: “Well, why would anyone want to read about that?”
That’s my kind of mantra, Barb. Can I borrow it?
Try reading the local section of your newspaper or buying a really expensive camera and reading the 300+ page manual just to figure out how to turn it on…
I’d do that Lorna but my cardiologist told me to quit watching and reading the news. Something about it being bad for my blood pressure. Can you imagine where he got that? As for the camera, try the switch that says on/off.
That assumes I can find the switch, Al. This is one high tech camera in the hands of a low tech gal. 😉
Winter woes wither the words! Springing forward titilates fresh inspiraation!
Now there is a topic fort you! 😉
Yes, now that winter is over maybe words will “spring” eternal.
It’s the weather! This winter from hell. Anyway I couldn’t blog if I had to, but you have a gift, so dream up something goofy (or serious) and go with it. Okay I’ll be waiting…!
Even when I’m serious I’m a little goofy so we’ll see….
Thanks for the compliment.
you are daft! how about telling us what you do everyday….I would be most interested…people’s lives are always interesting
Amazing, Patrecia with an e. You are the first person ever who hinted that my life might actually be interesting. Just for that I will dedicate my next post to you and tell you about what I’m doing. The other readers will just have to suffer along.
I agree with “E”. Give us the low down on your daily routine. A day in the life of…
How did you know? Why, just the other day my wife called me a “low down good for nothing.”
I shall really look forward to reading it…how exciting can life get?
I believe it may be the winter doldrums. But it is over now. And I expect to see more post blues blogs….
Thanks for the vote of confidence, li’l sis. Don’t know why I didn’t think of blaming it on LDS (Light Deprivation Syndrome) but with this damned blogger’s block you just can’t think of anything! That’s why it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted, or have I already said that?
