The proof is in the pudding….er…I mean…. spam.

Just when I was starting to think, is it worth it? Is this all there is? Why go on? I was saved. I just happened to click on my spam folder. There it was. My reason for blogging.

Notwithstanding my unadulterated, irreconcilable lack of recognition from Freshly Pressed, it turns out that I am probably the answer to nearly every blogger’s prayer. It’s right there in print. But don’t take my word for it, see the comments for yourselves:

“You write so honestly about this. Thanks for sharing!”

“This has made my day. I wish all postings were this good.”

“That’s a smart way of thinking about it.”

“These topics are so confusing, but this helped me get the job done.”

“Keep it coming, writer, this is good stuff.”

“Your honesty is like a beacon.”

“I cannot tell a lie, that really helped.”

“Oh yeah, fabulous stuff there you!”

“Tip top stuff. I’ll expect more now.”

“You’ve got to be kidding me-it’s so transparently clear now!”

“There’s nothing like the relief of finding what you’re looking for.”

“Hats off to whoever wrote this up and posted it.”

And my absolute favorite:

“Please teach the rest of these internet hooligans how to write!”

Modestly and brevity (mostly brevity) preclude me from listing all of them, but you get the idea.

The fact that all these comments come from someone trying to sell me something in no way invalidates their insightful opinions. I mean, who anywhere is more honest than a salesperson?

But our truth in blogging credo forces me to reveal one not so complimentary comment:

“that, allow me tell you what exactly did give good results. Your text can be highly powerful which is probably why I am taking the effort in order to comment. I do not make it a regular habit of doing that. Second, while I can notice the leaps in reason you come up with, I am not necessarily convinced of exactly how you seem to connect your details that produce your conclusion. For the moment I shall yield to your position but wish in the future you link your dots much better.”

It isn’t really clear who sent this comment since the address was a bit garbled, but I suspect it’s an English Composition teacher. You can bet though, from here on out I’ll be making extra sure to be careful in leaping my reasons, connecting my details, producing my conclusions and linking my dots. Look for even more tip-top stuff in the future.

In the meantime, I hope all you other hooligan bloggers will try to be more like me.

  1. You are delightful, as is your post….one of my spam was for breast enhancement cream this morning…such fun!! Hooligans of the world unite. ❤ Xx

  2. You found a lot of intelligent writing in your spam folder. Almost all of mine are like the last one you shared. Well, this hooligan blogger can’t make any promises. Always good to hear from you, Al.

  3. In a crazy world, quite like the one I inhabit, there would be some WordPress glitch and you would wake one morning to find all genuine comments in the Spam folder and all the spam comments attached to the post. Life can get easier with a faxless paper loan, good ideas in this terrific post which offers a wide range of economically priced deep sea cruises

    • Actually, Peter, I’m looking for a way to hack WP so that the spam comments do appear in my post. Two reasons….1. They stroke my ego more and 2. Maybe I could get commission checks for everyone of my readers that buys one of their products.

  4. I’m sure I’m one of those notorious leap-linking hooligan blogger. Oh Snap! That hurt.

On a brighter note, we must be sharing the same wavelength or something because I was going to suggest you rifle around your spam folder for blogging material. Your post about having nothing to blog about really had me worried… 😐

Your turn to write, but please don't be wittier than me. My ego is quite fragile.
