You’ve been up there long, oh great Tiangong,
Thy mighty metal chunk.
But your day is done, you’ve had your fun
Now see we only junk.
With telling force, you ran the course
Now all your fuel’s been guzzled
But where you want, to end your jaunt
Is leaving us quite puzzled.
You’ll burn up slow, and make a show
And leave us all in awe
But if your girth, should hit the earth
Well, that’s just Newton’s law.
If you come round, to smash the ground
I guess I shouldn’t grouse
Unless your flight, with all its might
Would put you at my house!
Al Hood 2018
I hadn’t heard about that piece of space junk! Love the ode, Al. I hope it has burned up by now!
Yes, it landed in the Pacific with little fanfare. It’s the most scared I’ve been since Y2K!
Haha! Art and science combined here. 🙂
Yes, life repeating itself. I once was in a science class with a guy named Art!
A frankly impressive piece of versology which brought a smile to my face. I do you and yours had a nice Easter 🙂
We did Peter and hope you did as well. Thankfully for my readers, the urge to take to verse comes relatively infrequently, about as often as a satellite falls to earth, so the odds are definitely in your favor.
Love it…good one my Bro. I hope you and Patty have a wonderful time on your trip….wrapping you both in much ❤ xXx
Thank you , Jane. Wish we could have met up but will send you kisses as we fly over the Island
Feel them flowing back my Bro. ❤
Brilliant! I’m speechless… hard to believe, isn’t it…
I’m taking the high road here, Margy, you know I hang on your every word!
Really a fun read. I was just reading an article on it and we were assured that no debris large enough will hit us. I hope so!!
Looks like we dodged the bullet, or in this case, the missile. Maybe the poem helped!
Well if a piece of it ends up here I hope it lands in an open field where I can at least see it and it does zero damage!
I think your chickens would give you fair warning if it came anywhere near your place. Animals just know those things. When we had our one and only earthquake here in Virginia several years ago, our dog was acting crazy about 20 seconds before we felt anything.
Something else to worry about, thanks a lot! 😉
Look on the bright side, Tricia, maybe it will hit Governor Moonbeam’s house.
Dang! It missed.
One can only hope Al!
The entry keeps changing. The latest forecast is the South Atlantic.

That sounds good, but Antarctica would make me feel even better.
Well said, O mighty pen!!
I report, you decide, Arlene.
I love it! Funny, witty, clever, and just a tad naughty. Sixth grade Al is alive and well. “I see your junk.”
Thank you to my sixth grade muse.
Love it. Hope it doesn’t land here in Michigan like the last meteor. Kristin saw it in the sky and couldn’t believe the very loud sonic boom it made. Heads up for sure!!!
They say lighting can’t strike twice in the same place….Hmmmmm….
