Like everyone of my readers I’m sure, I’m devastated over the carnage in Paris. I have a deep hurt for any family affected by this atrocity. It’s an all too common news item. I’d like to address this issue in this blog. I try to be neutral when posting any “political” blogs, as you may have noticed. This one will not be. I expect the more liberal readers in my cache of followers will shout “how can you make this political as families are grieving and the blood still runs?!” Have you forgotten the immediate political calls for gun control just hours after a mass shooting in this county? Let’s just call it even.

Talk show host Mark Steyn makes a spot on comment in his editorial that highlights the idiocy of the socialist governments in Europe:

“When the Allahu Akbar boys opened fire, Paris was talking about the climate-change conference due to start later this month, when the world’s leaders will fly in to “solve” a “problem” that doesn’t exist rather than to address the one that does. But don’t worry: we already have a hashtag (#PrayForParis) and doubtless there’ll be another candlelight vigil of weepy tilty-headed wankers. Because as long as we all advertise how sad and sorrowful we are, who needs to do anything?”

A shockingly strong statement to be sure, but we have to look at the truths in it. Of course there should be a hashtag and a candlelight vigil. But that seems to be all we are willing to do. We hear about our “secret operations” to deal with ISIS and how we (we being the free countries of the world) don’t need “boots on the ground” to effectively win this opaque war. Our President once called this group the “jayvees.” If the jayvees can blow up  sporting venues and cut down restaurant and theater goers like ducks in a gallery, what butchery will rain down on us when the varsity comes to town?

Just hours before this attack, the President appeared on a morning show and said, quote: “From the start, our goal has been first to contain and we have contained them. They have not gained ground in Iraq, and in Syria they’ll come in, they’ll leave. But you don’t see this systemic march by ISIL across the terrain.”

Well, the fact is, they don’t have to “systematically march” anymore. Europe has eased that requirement by inviting them in without a shot. We are about to do the same thing. I know the liberal mantra: “you can’t judge all Muslims by the few radicals.” But it’s alright to judge all gun owners by the actions of a few? Again, we’re even.

We are soon to invite these same factions onto our shores. Thirty thousand is the number Obama has given us. These refugees are predominantly young men, not women and children. Who is going to vet these refugees? Is it you? Is it Obama? No to both. How well did President Hollande vet those he let into his country? Not very. And this is less than one year since their last terrorist attack in Paris on a newspaper and Jewish delicatessen. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, is being threatened with impeachment because of her namby-pamby attitude toward thousands of unvetted refuges. Do you see the point?

This is a serious issue being egregiously under evaluated by the governments of the free world. This diabolical, religiously radical group has to be taken out where it is rooted. It can be done. It just takes leaders with a spine. As it is with all serious issues not dealt with appropriately, serious consequences invariably ensue. Just ask the families of Paris. Or of 9/11.

I expect this post will cost me some readers. I’m sorry for that. But before you go, let’s revisit a famous quote from philosopher and statesman, Edmund Burke: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
